GParted

Have you ever needed a software to shrink your partition on your hard drive to make room for a new partition? GParted will do that for you among other things. Great program if you know what you are doing. You can download a live CD so you can boot directly from the CD. It is dangerous to mess with your partition if you do not know what you are doing so be cautious when using this software.

If any case you accidentally delete your partition like I did the other day “Ouch”. Do not try to rewrite it, you might not be able to recover it if you do. I recommend using a program called TestDisk. You can create a boot disk on floppy or CD with it and run the program. Follow instructions its a good possibility your partition and all your software on disk will be recovered. Go here for the site.
